Repair when the cabinet is the expensive part
A Sub-Zero, Wolf, or a three-year-old Samsung that failed on a $40 board is a repair. The liner, the well, and the installation are already paid for. Swapping the whole kitchen because of one fault is how you overspend.
We see this constantly in Wesley Chapel and Tampa new builds: the appliance is fine except for a door lock, an igniter, or an ice maker. That is a first-visit job.
Replace when the next failure is the rest of the machine
A ten-year-old builder fridge with a dead sealed system, rusted floor, and a second noise underneath is not a hero repair. We will say so. Paying a diagnostic to hear that is cheaper than paying for a compressor you will not recoup.
If a warranty or a factory return is still open — Samsung, Lowe's, Home Depot, Assurant, Allstate — we run that instead of selling you a part.
What the $95 diagnostic actually buys
On-site diagnosis, not a guess from a photo. If you approve the repair on that visit, the $95 applies to the work. Same-day dispatch is $129. Fridays, diagnostics are on us.
Clear the area around the machine and note any error code. We still diagnose if you cannot find the model tag.
